Study on the competitiveness of Regional logistics

industry

[Abstract] This paper constructs the reasonable index system of the competitiveness of regional logistics industry. It establishes a scientific and reasonable evaluation index by principal component analysis to analyze the indicators. It finds that the level of competitiveness of the logistics of Liaoning Province has a trend of increasing steadily year by year by calculating the various indicators and composite scores of the level of the competitiveness of the regional logistics industry in Liaoning province.

I. Introduction

The rapid development of regional economic led the vigorous development of the regional logistics industry and unprecedented depth changes in the area of circulation and production. The development level of logistics industry has gradually become an important indicator to measure the overall economic strength of the country or region, investment environment and industrial infrastructure. Therefore, how to analyze and evaluate the competitiveness of regional logistics has become the focus of theorists.

The researches of Europe, Japan and other developed countries focused on the logistics enterprise level, which is committed to providing business optimization strategy. While the researches of the logistics system and competitiveness in the regional dimension is relatively small. The researches of the regional logistics of international main include: study the multinational resource allocation and coordination from global perspective. The researches mainly used the number of operations research and other technical tools to provide supports for a global network of supply chain facility, such as location positioning, multi-plant coordination, and strategic distribution system design and so on; study the problem of urban traffic network settings from perspective of economic and environmental. Panos Kouve and Meir J. Rosenblatt (2002) studied the effects of infrastructure finance, transport and regional trade rules, and government subsidies of corporate tax law in the global supply chain management; from the specific cases of logistics infrastructure to analyze the development of regional logistics. Tage Skjott Larsenetal(2003) established a multiowed model based on the theories of resources and competition mechanics and supply chain management. The model analyzed the effects of the regional logistics infrastructure on the development of regional economic; from other perspectives to study regional logistics. For example, it can from the perspectives of distribution of regional business, legal and cultural cooperation to study the layout of urban logistics indirectly.

In recent years, china also began a preliminary exploration and research. Yuming li and Xuhong wang proposed evaluation index of regional logistics based on principal component analysis in 2003, which has an evaluation of comprehensive competitiveness of regional logistics [1]. Junxia feng established a multi-level fuzzy evaluation system in 2003, which discussed the method of comparative advantage of the logistics industry based on the system. Wang bo proposed to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of regional logistics development in the use of the method of AHP and fuzzy evaluation [2]. Juping shao and Shaohua dong made a preliminary study on the existing competitive advantages and the core potential competitiveness in Shandong by the methods of SWOT analysis, analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and the benchmark method [3].Renshan lu proposed that the primary means of enhancing regional competitiveness is the main point of developing modern logistics industry in 2006.

The competition forms of regional logistics of Liaoning province with the increasing range of logistics radiation is turning from the competition between cities to regional. The neighbor effect made the planning and development of regional logistics industry must take full account of the competition and collaboration of logistics industry in the large areas. The comprehensive of logistics industry, the mutual influence of neighboring regions and multi-factor correlation made it still had some certain competition in the regional logistics industries.

II. Evaluation index system of the competitiveness of the regional logistics industry regional logistics index determination

A. Indicators Select

Evaluation indicators of competitiveness of the regional logistics industry refers to the specific factors with quantity characteristics, which can be used to evaluate the competitiveness conditions of the regional logistics industry or reveal the reasons of formation of regional logistics industry competitiveness[5]. The purpose of studying the competitiveness of logistics industry is not only in an objective description of the actual results of industrial competitiveness, and more important is to find the factors that affect the competitiveness of the regional logistics industry. That is to find reasons of future trends and leading regional logistics to compete, and then reveal and demonstrate the causality of competitiveness formation of the regional logistics industry.

Based on the point of the competitiveness formation mechanism of the regional logistics industry, it can from the development of competitiveness and competitive environment to build first index system of the competitiveness of the regional logistics industry. The specific index system of competitiveness of the regional logistics industry showed in Table 1.

2. 区域物流竞争力评价指标体系的构建以及指标的测定

2.1 评价指标的选取

区域物流竞争力的评价指标是指一些具有数量特征的具体因素,其可以用于评价区域物流竞争力的条件或者解释区域物流竞争力形成的原因。[5]进行物流竞争力的研究的目的不仅是对产业竞争力的实际结果的客观描述,更重要的是找到影响区域物流竞争力的因素。这是找到区域物流未来发展趋势并且在竞争中保持领先地位的原因,进而能够揭示并论证区域物流竞争力形成的因果关系。

基于区域物流形成机制的角度,可以从竞争力和竞争力环境的基础上来构建区域物流竞争力评价指标体系。区域物流竞争力的指标体系如表1所示。

2.2 数据采集

本文采用运输、仓储和邮政业等物流业相关数据。这些数据主要是从《中国统计年鉴》和辽宁省国民经济和社会统计公报。辽宁省物流业发展状况具体采用2008年的数据,如表2所示。

3 实证分析

3.1主成分分析

其中巴利特球度检验统计量的观测值为367.425,相应的概率P接近于0,适合做因子分析。同时KMO值为0.685,根据Kaiser给出的KMO度量标准可知原有变量适合进行因子分析。

(2)提取主成分

利用SPSS软件对数据进行分析和处理,从而可以得到主成分分析表。根据累积方差贡献率大于85%的原则和相应的特征值大于1,本文选取了两个主要成分。从表4中我们可以看到,两个主成分对应的特征值大于1,累积方差贡献率达到97.876%。因此,它可以反映原始数据的大部分信息。
